A Day to Remember

Mark McAdowA circuit-riding preacher or Colonel Sanders? I’m not exactly sure what I was supposed to look like last Sunday, but I had fun anyway! All I know is that is what you get for $37.50 from the local costume shop! It was that or Sponge Bob Squarepants!

Last Sunday was a wonderful day in the life of First Church! Thanks to each of you for making it such a special day, but thanks more for your faithfulness to our Lord Jesus Christ. I know He is so pleased by His children giving of themselves so freely and sacrificially.

We enjoyed an exciting time of worship with several guests present, and we got to dedicate Kim and Tracey’s new son, Zaxs, and welcome Dawn Cooper and her girls into the First Church Family. A quick church photo on the steps – and I mean quick – I almost didn’t make it (I heard several of you may have to be “Photoshopped” in, as well!), and a great barbecue lunch served with love! Not to mention our District Superintendent Frankye Johnson’s participation in our Mortgage Burning Service and Jeff Miller’s unique “flame thrower” style of burning the mortgage. And to top that off, the US Air Force flew their Stealth Bomber over to conclude our ceremony (Kirk promised we won’t have to pay for it!). And Oklahoma even threw a pretty impressive Parade, as well!

It’s a joy to serve as your Senior Pastor. I can’t wait to see all God has in store for our future together! Blessings!

Yours in Christ,

Mark

What a great day in the life of First Church. Our hearts yearned to be with you! We are thrilled with the great reports we hear about First Church. I know that God has a plan and a purpose and He will see it through under Mark's outstanding leadership and your faithfulness. "Give thanks to the LORD for He is good; His love endures forever!"

On Sunday mornings, in Amarillo, Texas, if I listen very, very closely, I can almost hear the sound of the shofar!

Love, prayers, and blessings!!
