Choral music, the joining of many voices together in song, was first made by living beings (angels or the heavenly hosts) to Creator God. It has existed since the beginning of time and takes on many forms, including praise, worship, thanksgiving and blessing. We were created to offer these expressions to Him who gave us life.

God is a God of variety and creativity. At First Church, we believe God is pleased with different styles of music, including classical, traditional and contemporary. Our congregation possesses a wide variety of musical tastes and the repertoire of the Chancel Choir reflects that diversity. We present a balance of the above mentioned styles so that we can minister to each member of our church family. God is looking for sincerity of heart in our worship and will hold us accountable for presenting music in a way that leads the congregation into a meaningful encounter with Him.
