First Church's highest priority is to be obedient to The Great Commission that Jesus gave us just before his return to the Father. “… go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19 & 20)

First Church ministers to the needs of people, both physically and spiritually. Through the United Methodist Relief Agency, and community organizations, we are always ready to respond to needs, natural disasters and crisis anywhere in the world.

First Church's highest goal is teaching the Word of God to all people both at home and abroad. Whether working with children in the local churches around the world, training in Bible colleges and seminaries, or supporting missionaries serving in all parts of the world, we believe the scriptures bring life and healing to the nations.

First Church sends out many mission teams to Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America on a regular basis to help our career missionaries in their ministries to the world, and celebrates each year with a World Outreach Week (WOW), encouraging people to make Faith Commitments in support of missions and hearing missionaries share exciting stories of what God is doing in their area.
