You’ve been asking, “How can I help?” Well, here’s a list of specific First Church ministry needs, with more service opportunities coming in the next few weeks!
FC Kids & Students: Teachers, helpers, and sponsors always needed for Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. A specific need right now is a Pre K Sunday School Teacher. Contact Sara Hurston to help with kids or Tony Moran to help with youth (239-6493).
Nursery Volunteers: Adults are needed to hold, rock, and show the love of Jesus to the littlest ones in our church. Contact Sara Hurston to volunteer.
Hospitality Team: Greeters and volunteers to work at the Welcome Center are needed Sunday mornings to welcome and assist our guests and members. Please call the Church office (239-6493).
Ushers: Ushers are needed (especially for our 11:00 service) on Sunday mornings. Please email Bill Mullins to volunteer.
Wednesday Night Dinner Helpers: If you attend small groups on Wednesday nights, or come to dinner with your kids, we need your help with set-up and clean-up. Contact the church office (239-6493) to volunteer.
FC Café: Helpers are needed every 5-6 weeks to serve in our Sunday morning café. Email Mary Nethercutt to volunteer.
Media Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help run sound and video on Sunday mornings. Contact Steven Grantham to find out more.
Worship Team Musicians: Guitarists, drummers, vocalists, and keyboard players are needed to share their musical gifts on Sunday mornings during the contemporary service. Contact Steven Grantham to get involved.
Security: Volunteers are needed to provide security on Sunday mornings on a rotational basis. Training will be provided. Contact Michael Davis to find out more.
Whiz Kids: Help mentor and tutor elementary kids or help in the kitchen on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7:30pm. To volunteer contact Mary Nethercutt.
Communion Servers: Volunteers are needed to help serve communion on the 1st Sunday of the month. Contact Sandie Blake to find out more.
Greeters: Volunteers are needed to greet people on Sunday mornings. There are 2 shifts available - 9:15 - 9:45 am and 10:30 - 11:00 am. Contact Kim Bingham for more information.
Office Volunteers: The Church office is looking for volunteers to sit at the front desk, answer the phone, and greet people that come into the office. Very little office experience necessary. Work as little as 4 hours a week. There are openings on Wednesday afternoons and the possibility of other days as well. Contact Kim Bingham or Candi Claunch for more information.
Friday Night Alive! Homeless Ministry: Volunteers are always welcome on Friday nights in Harris Hall to help with this weekly study and fellowship including dinner. Contact Tom or Mary Walbert for more information.
