“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things”
By Nina Boyle
Have you ever made a list of the simple things in life that make you smile? There may even be a few things that have been on your list since you were eight. At this stage of my life, I’m convinced that ice cream will perpetually rank in the top three on mine, right behind the belly laugh of small child, and fireflies on a cool summer night. One of my most favorite things about the Christmas season is sitting in my living room by the twinkling light of the tree and reminiscing about the stories behind the ornaments; vacations with dear friends, family “firsts”, the birth of our saviour. It’s covered with love.
Have you ever wondered what would be on God’s list? Have you ever asked Him? Simple Church is challenging us to not only think about it, but to seek it, together. Women Alive invites you to share the simple joys of a few of our First Church sisters, and to share some of His that we are a part of through our ministries. Join us on Wednesday evening, December 9, at 6:30pm. Childcare is provided.
