Faith Promise: What is it?
Faith Promise is the process First Church uses to support its entire Missions ministry within the church, and our many missionaries around the world. The term Faith Promise is derived from our willingness to step out in faith and believe that God will provide the resources to us, above and beyond our committed giving. As God provides those resources, we promise to be faithful to give to our mission efforts. You see, it is money we don't know God is blessing us with until it happens.
Faith Promise: How Do I Do It?
We ask every member to pray, asking God for a dollar amount which each person will give to Faith Promise in the coming year. Don’t be surprised if the number is more than you think possible. Remember, you are not providing the money, God is! We then ask you to let us know the amount God has placed on your heart. There are no names to go with these numbers; this is truly between you and God. God is going to use you as a channel through which He may pour out many blessings. As God provides, simply be faithful and mark the memo line of your check “Faith Promise,” and watch what God will do through your Faith Promise.
Faith Promise: How Is It Used?
Our Faith Promise giving is divided into four areas. 60% goes directly to our many missionaries around the globe. 20% is used for Volunteer In Mission programs (First Church people traveling to and from mission sites for scholarships, supplies, building needs, etc.). 10% goes to International ministries in OKC, and 10% goes to mobilizing the church for Missions. Each year our church asks God to raise over $40,000.00 in mission support, and your faithfulness is the source of these funds.
