Daycare/Evening Custodian

Status:  Part-time – requires approximately 20 hours per week of work.

Position Overview:  The First Church Day Care Custodian is to ensure the First United Methodist Church facilities are cleaned appropriately and to assist the Trustees in proper maintenance of FC property.

Supervisor:  This position shall report directly to the Senior Pastor.

Skills Required: Knowledge of basic janitorial skills, including minor repairs, cleaning, and general facility oversight.

Essential Job Functions:

·         Cleans daycare M-F, 6:00-10:00 p.m. 

·         Vacuums and mops all daycare rooms, vacuums hallways, cleans restrooms, takes out trash in stairwells, cleans windows and mirrors in classrooms and hallways.

·         Checks parking areas and building entrances for debris, trash, broken glass, cob webs, etc.

·         Daily cleans Harris Hall by vacuuming and disinfecting tables and chairs.

·         Performs a security check before leaving facility and ensures security alarms are set.

·         Performs other related duties as required.

Maintenance Worker

Status:  Part-time – requires approximately 20 hours per week of work.

Position Overview:  The Maintenance Worker is to provide basic “handyman” services including, but limited to:  painting, floor care, light bulb replacement, simple plumbing and equipment care, oversight of van maintenance, oversight facilities contractors including HVAC contractors, and coordination with First Church Board of Trustees.

Supervisor:  This position shall report directly to the Senior Pastor.

Skills Required:  Knowledge of basic facility maintenance functions including cleaning, painting, cosmetic drywall repair, plumbing repair, minor electrical repairs, and understanding of heating and air conditioning systems.

Essential Job Functions:

·         Inspects First Church facility at least weekly for necessary repairs

·         Completes maintenance items and repairs identified and prioritized by Trustees

·         Checks parking lot and entrances for damage or areas of needed repairs

·         Coordinates contractors as needed with Pastor and Trustees

·         Provides oversight of contractors

·         Attends monthly Trustees meeting

·         Performs other related duties as required
