29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Love. It's what makes the world go round. It's all we need. Well, at least according to pop songs from a generation ago. Certainly we talk about love a lot in the church, but so often the problem lies in the fact that we talk about love rather than live out love. We say we are loving people and loving churches, but often our actions say just the opposite. Often our actions say we are judgmental, condemning, and self-righteous.
As we continue this sermon series entitled "One.Life" we will turn our attention this Sunday to Love. As the premise of the sermon has already taught us, we only have one shot at this thing called life. We need to get it right. We need to get our love right, because we only have one life with which to love. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday at First Church OKC at 10:45 am as we join together in living this One.Life to the fullest.
